Executive Director: Terence Foster

Terence Foster

One of the co-founders of Educational Programmes Abroad in 1972, Terence is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Sussex University. He was responsible for setting up the very first internship program for US students in the UK in 1975. Terence has overseen the expansion of EPA into other European centers, and is more convinced than ever of the importance of helping US students gain international experience.

US Program Director: Lisa Frauens

Lisa Frauens

Lisa is the US Program Director and acts as a liaison between the students and schools in the USA and the Program Directors in Europe. Lisa lived in Germany from 2000 to 2003 and studied in France and England as a college student. She is a member of NAFSA and participated in the NAFSA Academy in 2011. She is currently serving on the WIVA working group, Best Practices On Professional Internships. Lisa earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and her Master's Degree at the St. Louis Conservatory of Music.

Each one of our counselors is available to visit a university or college outside of their region to meet with interested academics or students.

London Program Director: Andrea Morris

Ensuring the smooth running of EPA's London program is Andrea Morris. Andrea is from South Africa, where she studied Social Science at the University of Cape Town. Afterwards, she came to London for her post-graduate studies and since then has held a number of positions, both in teaching and educational administration.

She is very experienced in working with US study abroad programs and is well placed to help students gain the maximum benefit from their internship experience.

German Programs Director: Hartwig Prüßmann

Hartwig Prüßmann

Hartwig has worked with EPA for almost 20 years. He has also served as director of several other US study abroad programs in Germany, and the US State Department recently recognized Hartwig for his outstanding support of German-American youth exchange programs. As EPA's German Programs Director, Hartwig manages our busy internship programs in Bonn, Cologne and Berlin. Hartwig holds a Master's degree from Washington University in St Louis.

Edinburgh Program Director: Karen MacCormick

Karen MacCormick

As an American living in Scotland for a number of years, Karen understands the challenges that face EPA students and works hard to ensure a smooth transition for each one. She is also a fully qualified Blue Badge Tourist Guide who loves sharing the history and culture of Edinburgh with visitors. Karen was an assistant Programme Director for EPA in Edinburgh for a number of years before taking over as Programme Director, and previously, she taught Nursing at the University of Wisconsin — Madison from 1974-1989. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and an MS in Nursing & Education both from the University of Wisconsin — Madison.

Brussels Program Director: Ruby Bhambra

Covering the EPA program for Brussels is Ruby Bhambra. Ruby graduated from ESAD and has extensive experience in business development, future technologies and global project management. Having worked with companies and cultures from all sides of the globe, Ruby is well placed in developing and forming effective working relationships between providers and interns. Prior to joining EPA, Ruby had previously worked for Brussels leading regulatory risk newspaper and her experience with the European Commission, Brussels based law firms, banks and industries is an our asset to our program.

Madrid Program Director: Rocio Bartolome Rodriguez

Rocio Bartolome Rodriguez

Rocio graduated from the Universidad Complutense, Madrid, having spent one year at the University of Nottingham-Trent as an Erasmus student. She has taught at the University of Salamaca and at James Madison University, Virginia. She brings to the Madrid program experience and understanding of what is needed to help US students get the most from the internship and study at a foreign university.
